Advanced Machines Add-On & Advanced Sorting & Storage Add-On
 

If you are using the Advanced Machines Add-On, you can connect your factory to your Advanced Storage system using Chests as a bridge between the two pipe systems.

Advanced Machines Pipes cannot connect directly to Advanced Storage Item Pipes, Item Pipe Exchangers or Storage Terminals. Instead, use an Advanced Machines Pipe to send items from your Machine into a Chest.

Then place an Item Pipe Exchanger on the Chest and connect your Advanced Storage Item Pipes. Interact with the Exchanger and set it to take items out of the Chest. Your items can then travel through the Advanced Storage pipes into Storage Containers, Computer Storage Terminals or other Chests.

Machine → Advanced Machines Pipe → Chest → Item Pipe Exchanger → Item Pipe → Storage
