Item Pipes & Item Pipe Exchangers
 

Item Pipes automatically move items between containers. First, place an Item Pipe Exchanger directly next to a Chest, Storage Container or Storage Terminal, then connect your Item Pipes to the Exchanger.

Interact with the Item Pipe Exchanger to open its settings. Here you can choose whether it should put items into the container, take items out, or both. You can also add Item Filters to control exactly which individual items or blocks are allowed to move in or out.

Each filter can be set to Whitelist or Blacklist. Whitelist means only the items or blocks you selected can pass through. Blacklist means everything except the selected items or blocks can pass through. This lets you create sorting systems where different items are automatically sent to different containers.

Each connected Item Pipe system can have up to 20 active Exchangers. If you add more than 20, some will flash red and warn you that adding more could affect performance. Add a Chest and start the next Item Pipe system. Splitting up networks helps performance on lower-end devices.

Note: If you are also using the Advanced Machines Add-On, these Item Pipes cannot connect directly to Advanced Machines Pipes or Machines. Instead, connect the Advanced Machines Pipes to a Chest, then use these Item Pipes to take the items out of that Chest and move them into your storage system.
